Unit Christmas Party - 12/11

Wednesday, December 11th

6:00-8:30

Attire: Class A for Scouts; festive attire (if you wish) for guests

What to Bring: a dessert from your family to share; items for the warm tree (new or gently used scarves, gloves, tobaggans, coats) to be donated

To Do: Troop parents are asked to stay and help clean

National Scouts BSA Dues Increasing

Please be advised that the national Scouts BSA organization is raising yearly registration fees coming in February.  The new rate will be $72.  We know that this is a big increase so we wanted you to know as soon as possible.  We apologize - this is not our idea and none of this money goes to the Troop.  Please let us know if you have any questions. 

Carnival Candy - Due 10/15

Please remember to pick up TWO (2) large bags of candy per scout and send them in by 10/15 to use at the Carnival.

Sliding Rock Camping Trip - August 16-18

August 16 - 18th (be here as close to 6:00 as you can)
Camping (to Troop) - $16
Cash to Grubmaster - $15
All money is due by next Tuesday, August 13th
If you need a lifejacket, you can rent one for $6 per hour or you can purchase on Amazon or Walmart for $6 in advance.  The pool at the bottom of the slide is about eight feet deep.  There is a lifegaurd on duty. 
Ms. Kelly will have permission forms to complete on Tuesday at troop meeting as well as on Friday before we leave. 
Please plan to arrive at the hut as close to 6pm on Friday as possible so we can get on the road quickly.
We will not be stopping for dinner so eat before you come.

Conservation Project - Sept. 14

Conservation Project - hours can apply to Rank Advancement (Star), Camping Merit Badge, and Citizenship in the Community Merit Badge (among others)
Meet at the Scout Hut at 8:15 AM with a water bottle
Eat breakfast before you come. 
Will travel by Troop van to do stream clean up in Pineville.
Wear Troop tshirt and comfortable shorts that can get dirty. Water resistant hiking boots or rain boots suggested. 
Will return at 12:30 PM
