Troop 70 Troop Meetings Patrols & Schedule

Posted on Aug 30 2020 - 7:12pm
Hi Troop 70 - We really enjoyed seeing all of you that were able to make it to our full troop meeting last week.  I know some are still not comfortable in group settings due to Covid19 and that's ok.  We will continue to communicate with you via email, text and phone. For those willing to come to troop meetings, see below.

Troop Meeting Tues. 8/25 7pm @ Scout Hut

Posted on Aug 23 2020 - 12:38pm
Hi Troop 70!  Don't forget we are having a full troop meeting this Tuesday, 8/25 at 7pm.  Previously I sent an email stating we would be meeting at Mr. Bill's house; however, upon further discussions with our charter organization, they have agreed to let us meet at the scout hut, just not inside. This will help alleviate the parking problem we would have had at Mr. Bill's house.  We can meet in the yard beside the hut or in the case of rain, we can meet behind the CFC under cover.  For this first all-troop meeting, we will hold elections for the boys ASPL as well as assign new patrols and patrol leadership.  We anticipate this meeting lasting no longer than an hour.  Every scout (both boys and girls) needs to attend this meeting as it will set the pace for our future meetings this fall when we begin meeting each Tuesday, one patrol per week. Please arrive in Class A uniform and bring a camp chair if you like.  Use the restroom prior to arrival so we don't have scouts and parents inside the Scout Hut.

Troop 70 resumes meetings 8/25

Hi Troop 70!  I hope you are all staying safe and healthy throughout these crazy times we find ourselves in.  Please know I have been and continue to pray for each and every one of you...for your health, for your safety, for your sanity.  As you start back to school, please take good care of yourselves!

Troop Meeting & OA Elections via ZOOM 5/18 7pm

We are excited that we are going to have a Troop Meeting that includes OA elections on Tuesday, May 19th at 7:00!  Scouts can participate from the comfort of your own home!  We are excited to catch up with everyone and check in on progress toward rank!

Summer camp $ due 4/28

Posted on Apr 17 2020 - 4:31pm

We will have a drive-by set up in order for you to bring the money for summer camp on Tuesday, 4/28, 6:45 - 7:45pm.  It will be at the scout hut outside on the front deck.  Social distancing rules will be in effect. You can come anytime within that window. Please bring exact change or check made payable to Troop 70 as Ms Joy will not have change.  She will have info on any funds your scout has available from the sale of popcorn.  If you have camp card money or camp cards to turn in, you can bring those in as well to apply to your summer camp balance.  All scouts have been registered for summer camp merit badges. Some have extra costs associated with them in addition to the $320 base fee per scout. Be in touch with any questions.

Troop 70 Check-in

Posted on Apr 12 2020 - 4:57pm
Hi Troop 70!!!  See below for some pertinent info..
SUMMER CAMP:  At this time, we still do not know when we will be able to resume normal troop meetings and activities but we are still planning on going to summer camp as scheduled (7/5-7/11) until they tell us otherwise.  The scout office downtown is closed at least until sometime in May so we aren't able to pay our summer camp money yet ($320 per scout).  This coming Friday, I along with a few other leaders will be registering scouts for summer camp merit badges. The list of available badges is attached.  Please have all scouts who plan on attending summer camp take a look and get back in touch with me on their choices.  The daily classes will follow a different schedule than they have in years past.  I will explain the concept a little closer to camp time.
